jog-a-thon

I am physically incapable of running without my iPod. I am not a person who enjoys exercise, but by listening to music while I run I trick myself into thinking that I'm having fun. Instead of thinking about the cramp in my calf of the burning sensation in my throat, it think about the lyrical stylings of Elliot Smith, Wolf Mother, Kravinsky & Lovefoxxx, LCD Soundsystems, and Jay-Z. I motivate myself by saying that after the next song I can take a break or throw up. In just one more song I'll be home. Measuring my runs, it would be more accurate to call them jogs or even wogs(walking and jogging), is much less discouraging than miles or minutes. So thank you Apple for helping to keep my love handles in check.

  1. AGREED. Running is probably the most boring and excruciating thing I could be asked to do. I HATE IT. I would probably be willing to go to war with people who like it lol Joking, but maybe not.
The only way I get through running is music. Some people social run to motivate themselves, but I feel that is even worse, because then you have someone you are trying to talk to when you have no air to even breathe, and I am always about a block behind whoever I am running with. Anyway, if you got to run, do it with some eye of the tiger pumping energy to your soul! :)

  2. This made me laugh! I used to absolutely loathe running. Then I discovered my iPod, and it was like a whole new world! There is just something about the feeling you get when you're about to die, and a great song comes on to help you finish strong.
